Cyprus parliament reviews bills for European Single Access Point

On Monday, the Parliamentary Committee on Finance in Cyprus discussed a package of 12 harmonization bills aimed at establishing the European Single Access Point (ESAP). This initiative, managed by the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), will provide the public with centralized digital access to information regarding financial services and capital markets entities and their products. The database will include both mandatory disclosures and voluntary information submitted by companies.

Domestic entities, such as the Central Bank of Cyprus, the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission, and the Audit Office Supervisory Authority, will serve as information collectors. These bodies will be responsible for transmitting data to the centralized ESMA platform. The bills were originally drafted in December 2025 and formally submitted to the House of Representatives on January 22, 2026. Representatives from the Legal Service noted that two additional related bills are pending, as the legislative process continues.
