Cyprus authorities investigate administration of unapproved medical products

Cypriot health authorities are currently investigating allegations that healthcare professionals have been administering unapproved injectable and topical products to the public. These substances, which are promoted as treatments for weight loss, anti-aging, muscle growth, and general organ function improvement, have not been authorized for human use. The Ministry of Health’s Pharmaceutical Services are scrutinizing a specific healthcare facility regarding the origin of these products and the safety of the clinical environment in which they are provided.

This trend, which has gained traction in other countries in recent years, has prompted the Ministry to issue a public warning regarding potential health risks. Authorities are currently reviewing the evidence and considering filing a formal complaint with the Police. Furthermore, officials have received reports indicating that similar unapproved substances are being administered at locations outside of established medical facilities where no healthcare professionals are present. The investigation aims to determine the extent of the practice and identify those responsible for distributing and using these illicit medical preparations.
