Road maintenance and construction works scheduled in Limassol district

Several road maintenance and construction projects are currently underway or scheduled for the coming days in the Limassol district. On September 6, road surface upgrades were initiated on Agias Filaxeos Street in Limassol municipality. Simultaneously, the 71st Road in the Makarios III settlement of Polemidia municipality will be closed from September 7 to September 18, 2026, to facilitate sewage infrastructure works. During this period, access will be restricted to local residents only, and motorists are advised to follow temporary signage near the junction with Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue.

Additionally, the Public Works Department has announced that a 200-meter section of the fast lane within the Limassol-Paphos highway tunnel will be closed on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 08:30 to 12:00. This closure is required for urgent repairs to a fire suppression pipe, with traffic diverted to the slow lane. Authorities have issued apologies for the anticipated inconvenience and strongly urge all drivers to exercise caution, follow the temporary road markings, and comply with police instructions in all affected areas.
