Architectural Association completes international workshop at Neapolis University Pafos

The Architectural Association (AA) of London concluded its international architectural workshop, "Fragments in Equilibrium," held at Neapolis University Pafos from August 24 to September 3, 2026. This collaboration marked the first time the workshop was hosted by the institution in Paphos, bringing together students and tutors for an intensive research and design program.

The project focused on the abandoned village of Foinikas, examining the intersection of architectural remnants, the natural landscape, and the requirements of contemporary society. Participants utilized a range of advanced techniques, including onsite research, photogrammetric mapping, digital modeling, and collaborative design strategies. The primary goal was to explore sustainable methods for the reuse of existing architectural structures within modern spatial and social planning frameworks. The workshop culminated in final presentations of the participants' work, reflecting on Cyprus's cultural heritage.
