Department of Road Transport issues safety warning for five vehicle models

The Cyprus Department of Road Transport (TOM) has issued a safety notification regarding five vehicle models identified as posing risks of injury or fire. Based on data from the Consumer Protection Service and the European Union’s Safety Gate system for non-food products, these vehicles were identified during the 34th week of 2026.

Specific safety risks have been linked to an Iveco truck and an Audi Q3 passenger car (manufactured between July 9, 2026, and July 15, 2026), which may cause injuries. Additionally, the risk of fire has been associated with the Jeep Compass (manufactured March 4, 2026 – March 27, 2026), the DS8 (manufactured March 6, 2026), and the Temsa HD12, HD13, and Safir bus models (manufactured between November 5, 2022, and September 30, 2025).

The Department of Road Transport has instructed all manufacturers, distributors, importers, and sellers, including online vendors, to immediately notify the Department if they have placed these vehicles on the Cyprus market. This measure is part of the ongoing effort to ensure public safety and mitigate potential hazards associated with these specific production batches.
