Department of Road Transport issues safety warnings for five vehicle models

The Cyprus Department of Road Transport (TOM) has issued an official warning regarding five vehicle models identified during the 34th week of 2026 as posing risks of injury or fire. These vehicles were included in the European Union’s Safety Gate system, which monitors dangerous non-food products.

Specific models affected include an Iveco truck and an Audi Q3 passenger car (manufactured between July 9, 2026, and July 15, 2026), both of which may cause injuries. Additionally, the risk of fire has been identified in the Jeep Compass (produced from March 4 to March 27, 2026), the DS8 passenger car (manufactured on March 6, 2026), and various Temsa bus models, specifically the HD12, HD13, and Safir, produced between November 5, 2022, and September 30, 2025.

TOM has called upon all manufacturers, authorized representatives, distributors, importers, and sellers—including those operating online—to immediately notify the department if these vehicles have been placed on the market in the Republic of Cyprus. The authorities are monitoring the situation to ensure appropriate corrective measures are taken to protect consumers.
