Anorthosis secures stadium certification for derby against APOEL

Anorthosis Famagusta successfully resolved structural and seismic stability issues regarding the east stand of the Freedom Antonis Papadopoulos stadium, ensuring the venue is fully operational for the upcoming home match. The club had been working urgently since early September to meet strict safety standards required by the Stadium Licensing Authority.

Following necessary interventions and structural reinforcements, the licensing authority granted the required certificate of suitability on September 9, 2026. This approval allows the club to open all stands to spectators for the Cyprus League match against APOEL, scheduled for Saturday, September 12, at 19:00. The resolution of these safety concerns ensures that the full capacity of the stadium is available for fans, preventing potential restrictions on ticket allocations for visiting supporters.

Following the authorization, the club officially commenced ticket sales online and at designated retail points in Larnaca and Limassol.
