Construction work completed on the first section of Faneromeni Avenue in Larnaca

Construction work has been completed on the first phase of Faneromeni Avenue in Larnaca as part of the city's Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan. Although the structural works are finished, the road will remain closed to traffic from the K-Cineplex roundabout to the main Faneromeni roundabout until Monday, September 14, 2026, to allow for essential road marking operations. The section is scheduled to reopen to the public on that date.

Following the reopening, construction will immediately shift to the opposite side of the avenue. These new works are expected to last for approximately one month. During this period, traffic will be diverted via Nikou and Despoinas Pattichi Avenue, with the routing configuration being the reverse of the current traffic management system. These infrastructure improvements are part of a broader municipal effort to enhance road safety and promote public transportation by redeveloping major urban transit corridors within the city.
