Moroccan footballers show solidarity following Ayoub El Kaabi's serious injury
Olympiacos striker Ayoub El Kaabi suffered a severe tibia-fibula fracture during his team's match against Volos Elabet. Following a surgical procedure to address the injury, the player is expected to remain sidelined from professional competition for a period of six to seven months.
Demonstrating professional solidarity, Azzedine Ounahi, a Panathinaikos player and fellow Moroccan national team member, visited El Kaabi in the hospital shortly after his own team's victory against PAOK on September 6, 2026. Ounahi, who shared his support via social media prior to the visit, appeared in his Panathinaikos kit during the hospital meeting. Additionally, Youssef El-Arabi, who currently plays for Marco and previously played alongside El Kaabi at Olympiacos, also visited him in the hospital following a match against Panserraikos to provide personal support during his recovery.
