AEL Limassol in talks to sign striker Frantzdy Pierrot from AEK Athens

AEL Limassol is currently engaged in advanced negotiations to sign 31-year-old Haitian striker Frantzdy Pierrot from AEK Athens. The move comes as the Cypriot club seeks urgent offensive reinforcements following long-term injuries to key players Gomis and Chatakovitch. Pierrot, who stands 1.94 meters tall and has a contract with the Greek club valid until the summer of 2027, is reportedly surplus to requirements at AEK. AEL is working to finalize a deal that would involve sharing the burden of the player's salary.

The transfer efforts are time-sensitive, as the registration window in Cyprus is set to close on September 9. Alongside the pursuit of Pierrot, AEL has been evaluating Loren Moron from Aris Thessaloniki as an alternative option. However, recent reports indicate that the financial requirements for the Moron transfer, specifically his one-million-euro salary, make that deal unlikely to proceed. AEL remains active in the market, aiming to secure a quality striker before the deadline to address their roster gaps.

Pierrot previously played for Maccabi Haifa, Guingamp, and Mouscron, and has recorded 10 goals and one assist in 55 appearances for AEK Athens. As of the latest reports, no final agreement has been reached for either target, and the club continues to weigh its options.
