Cyprus real estate market hits record growth in first eight months of 2026
The Cypriot real estate sector experienced robust growth during the first eight months of 2026, reaching a total of 13,288 sales contracts filed with the Department of Lands and Surveys. According to analysis by BuySell, this figure represents a 13.7% increase compared to the same period in 2025, marking the strongest performance for an eight-month period on record.
Specifically, August 2026 saw 1,241 sales contracts, which constitutes a 10% increase compared to August 2025. While August is traditionally the quietest month of the year for the market—down from 2,040 contracts in July 2026—the year-on-year data confirms a consistent upward trajectory. Every month of 2026 has outperformed its corresponding month from the previous year, with June showing the highest growth rate at 27.2% and July recording the largest volume of activity.
Despite rising construction costs, the market continues to maintain significant momentum. Analysts highlight that the consistent monthly gains throughout the year reflect a resilient sector that has successfully avoided any decline relative to 2025 performance levels.
