Sweden heads to general elections in a tight race

Sweden is set to hold general elections this coming Sunday, with the political landscape shifting from an expected landslide victory for the opposition to an extremely tight contest. The campaign has been dominated by critical issues, including public health, purchasing power, and increasing concerns regarding national security.

For several months, polls indicated that the center-left opposition, led by Social Democratic leader Magdalena Andersson, would regain power with a significant lead. Latest polling data shows the four left and center-wing parties attracting approximately 50% of voter intent, while the four right-wing parties poll at 47%.
