PAOK completes the loan signing of Kristian Jakic

PAOK Thessaloniki has officially acquired 29-year-old Croatian defensive midfielder Kristian Jakic on a one-year loan deal from FC Augsburg. The agreement includes a purchase option set at 4 million euros. Jakic arrived in Thessaloniki on September 8th to undergo medical examinations and sign his contract, marking the club's tenth transfer addition of the season. He is expected to be available for selection for the upcoming derby against Aris scheduled for September 13th at 21:00.

Jakic, born on May 14, 1997, brings significant experience to the Greek side, having previously played for Eintracht Frankfurt and Dinamo Zagreb. During his tenure at Augsburg, which began in January 2024, he recorded 78 appearances, five goals, and three assists. While the deal was initially delayed by negotiations over the terms of the purchase option, the player's desire to move helped facilitate the transfer.

Beyond this signing, PAOK remains active in the transfer market as the club aims to further bolster its squad. Reports indicate that management is currently evaluating potential additions for the center-back position and considering a move for 21-year-old Serbian forward Mihajlo Ivanovic, who currently plays for Millwall. However, the pursuit of the striker is viewed as complex due to a reported 11-million-euro valuation by the English side.
