Olympiacos defender Lorenzo Pirola sidelined with muscle injury
Olympiacos defender Lorenzo Pirola has been diagnosed with a mild muscle strain following medical examinations. The injury occurred during the recent Super League match against Volos at the Panthessaliko Stadium, where the Italian player requested a substitution shortly before halftime and was replaced by David Carmo.
As a result of this injury, Pirola has been ruled out of the upcoming domestic league fixture against OFI this Saturday. The player has already commenced a specialized recovery program, and his physical condition will be monitored on a daily basis by the club's medical staff.
The primary focus for the medical team is to ensure his availability for the upcoming UEFA Europa League campaign. There is optimism that he will recover in time to participate in the European opening match against Jagiellonia, scheduled for Wednesday, September 16, at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium.
