Police activity in Paphos district results in several arrests

Recent law enforcement activities in the Paphos district have resulted in the arrest of a 46-year-old man for illegal possession of property and a 48-year-old woman for repeatedly violating a court order. On September 7, 2026, police raided the home of the 46-year-old man following an investigation, discovering a large quantity of power tools for which he could not provide a satisfactory explanation. The Paphos District Court subsequently remanded the suspect in custody for six days as the Peyia Police Station continues its investigation to determine if the equipment is linked to previous thefts.

In a separate series of events, a 48-year-old woman was arrested twice on September 9, 2026, in Peyia for breaching a court order that prohibits her from approaching or entering a business premises she previously managed. According to Paphos Assistant Police Director Michalis Nikolaou, she was first arrested at 5:20 p.m. and released after being charged in writing. She was apprehended again at either 8:20 p.m. or 10:20 p.m. following another violation of the same order. She is scheduled to appear before the Paphos District Court for further legal proceedings.
