Panathinaikos striker Cyril Dessers had his initial three-match suspension reduced to a single game following a successful appeal. The player was issued a direct red card in the 69th or 71st minute of a match against PAOK on September 6, 2026, following a confrontation with opposing player Michailidis. The disciplinary authorities initially imposed a three-match ban for violent conduct.

Panathinaikos management appealed the decision, arguing that the incident was merely a momentary push for positioning rather than a deliberate act of violence. The appeal was heard on Wednesday, September 9, and the final ruling was issued on the morning of September 10. The disciplinary body accepted the club's arguments, clearing the player to return to the squad for the upcoming match against Panetolikos on Sunday.

As a result of the reduced sentence, Dessers will only miss the rescheduled match against Kifisia. This outcome allows the forward, who has scored four goals this season, to continue his participation in both the Stoiximan Super League and the Superbet Greek Cup.
