Cyprus selects Hold Onto Me for the 2027 Oscars

The Cyprus Department of Contemporary Culture announced that the film "Hold Onto Me" ("Krata Me"), directed by Myrsini Aristidou, has been selected as the country's official entry for the Best International Feature Film category at the 99th Academy Awards. The decision was reached by a seven-member National Nomination Committee following a formal evaluation process in compliance with the guidelines established by the U.S. Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

The film, produced by Monika Nikolaidou of Filmblades, features a script written by Aristidou, with Lase Ulvedal Tolbol as director of photography and Dimitra as production designer. The official submission to the U.S. Academy has already been completed. This nomination represents Cyprus's effort to secure a place in the international competition at the upcoming Oscars ceremony.

The 99th Academy Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on March 14, 2027, in Los Angeles, United States. The Ministry of Culture has extended its support and well-wishes to the director, producer, and the entire production crew for their upcoming campaign in the global film circuit.
