Omega Channel secures exclusive rights to Formula 1 broadcast in Cyprus
Omega Channel has announced that it will serve as the exclusive broadcaster for Formula 1 races in Cyprus for the 2026-2028 period. The network will air all qualifying sessions and Grand Prix events, with the upcoming race scheduled to take place in Madrid.
The announcement follows a successful broadcast of the Italian Grand Prix from the Monza circuit on Sunday, September 6, 2026. Data shows the race attracted over 61,000 viewers in Cyprus, capturing a 17% market share in the general audience category, which significantly outperformed the second-place station that recorded 9% viewership. This strong performance highlights the growing local interest in the sport.
Omega Channel aims to maintain this momentum as the championship moves to its next destination in Spain. The network emphasizes its role in providing open-zone live access to motorsport fans throughout the three-year agreement.
