Tasos Chatzigiovanis transfers from Omonia to OFI Crete
Greek winger Tasos Chatzigiovanis has officially completed his transfer from Omonia Nicosia to OFI Crete, returning to the Greek Super League after a one-year spell in Cyprus. The 29-year-old player signed a contract with the Cretan club until the summer of 2027, following initial discussions regarding his departure from the Nicosia team.
During his time at Omonia, Chatzigiovanis made 45 appearances across all competitions, scoring 5 goals and providing 5 assists. He played a significant role in the club's successful 2025-2026 season, which culminated in the team winning their 22nd national championship. His departure was officially confirmed by both clubs on September 11, 2026, after the player traveled to Heraklion to undergo medical examinations.
OFI management pursued the signing to bolster their squad ahead of their participation in the European competitions, including the Europa League League Phase. For Omonia, the transfer facilitates the registration of new players, such as David Akintola, by freeing up a spot on the club's A-list roster.
