Police conduct nationwide security operations in Cyprus

During the night between Tuesday and Wednesday, the Cyprus Police carried out targeted preventative operations across the country to curb criminal activity and ensure public order. Officers established patrols in key urban locations, resulting in the arrest of 14 individuals for various offenses, including robbery, possession of burglary tools, drug possession, illegal residency, and outstanding court warrants.

Throughout the operations, authorities stopped 557 vehicles and screened 704 individuals. Police also inspected 37 business premises, leading to three complaints, while traffic enforcement resulted in 338 citations and six active investigations, with seven vehicles being impounded. These proactive measures were described by law enforcement as part of a broader effort to enhance public security and address delinquency across urban centers.
