Nicosia police issue appeals for several missing persons

Nicosia police have issued multiple public appeals for information regarding several individuals who have gone missing in the capital between September 7 and September 10, 2026. The missing persons include 16-year-old Sotiroula Oikomidou, last seen on September 8; 16-year-old Medhat Aldarwish from Syria, missing since September 9; 13-year-old Sabah Alsadi from Romania, reported missing on September 10; and 49-year-old Georgios Grigoropoulos from Greece, who has been missing since September 7.

Authorities have released physical descriptions for each individual to assist the public. Sotiroula is 1.63m tall with long black hair, Medhat is 1.67m with dark eyes, Sabah is 1.55m of medium build, and Georgios is 1.75m with short grey-white hair and distinct missing front teeth. Police are coordinating the search efforts through the Nicosia Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information to contact the Nicosia CID at 22802222, any local police station, or the Citizen’s Line at 1460. Investigations remain ongoing for all cases, and officials continue to request public assistance in locating these individuals safely.
