Antonio Cordon returns to Olympiacos with expanded responsibilities

Antonio Cordon has officially returned to Olympiacos as of September 2026, stepping into a role that replaces the departing Darko Kovacevic. The Spanish executive previously worked for the Piraeus-based club during the first half of the 2023/24 season but left at that time due to personal issues. Following recent discussions with club owner Vangelis Marinakis in Greece, an agreement was reached to bring him back to the organization.

Unlike a standard sporting director position, Cordon’s new role entails a broader scope with increased authority over the club's daily operations and overall strategy. He will coordinate sporting functions, oversee various departments, and collaborate closely with the administration and the coaching staff. His responsibilities include managing the transfer process, specifically overseeing player additions and departures. Cordon is expected to utilize his professional network to evaluate roster requirements and lead transfer preparations ahead of the upcoming January window, aiming to strengthen the team's competitive structure.
