Apollon Limassol signs two Nigerian prospects while Angelos Andreou faces injury
Apollon Limassol has officially announced the signing of two 18-year-old Nigerian players as part of a long-term investment strategy. The club secured winger Mubarak Onoruoyiza Uthman from Athletic SC 2022 and defensive midfielder Udochukwu Augustine Chima from Coal City United. Both players have signed contracts lasting until May 2028, with an option to extend their stay until May 2030.
These acquisitions follow a difficult period for the team's squad, as winger Angelos Andreou has been sidelined due to a serious hamstring injury sustained during the derby against Anorthosis. Andreou has already begun a recovery program, with his return to action remaining dependent on the progress of his rehabilitation.
The additions of Uthman and Chima are viewed as forward-looking developments for the Limassol-based club. The players represent part of a scouting plan that had been in motion for several months. No further transfer movements are expected as the registration period draws to a close.
