Two men arrested in Nicosia following vehicle-based assault

Nicosia police have arrested two 32-year-old men following a violent confrontation that occurred on the evening of September 8, 2026. The incident began when the two suspects approached a 30-year-old man in the Nicosia district. According to investigators, one of the suspects deliberately struck the 30-year-old and another 32-year-old man, who had arrived at the scene to assist, with his vehicle before fleeing the area.

The second suspect, who arrived at the location on a motorcycle, physically attacked the 30-year-old but was subdued by the victim. Police arrived at the scene and immediately arrested the motorcycle rider. Following further investigation and the issuance of a judicial warrant, authorities tracked down and apprehended the second suspect who had fled the scene in the car. It was later discovered that the motorcycle used in the incident had been reported as stolen. The police are continuing their investigation into the case, which is being treated as an assault aimed at causing grievous bodily harm.
