Lionel Messi reaches preliminary agreement to purchase Spanish club Eldense

Lionel Messi has entered into a preliminary agreement to acquire 100% of the shares of the Spanish football club Eldense, currently competing in the Segunda División. Following his retirement from the Argentine national team, the football star is diversifying his investments and intends to become the sole owner of the club, bypassing external investors.

The acquisition involves the purchase of all shares currently held by the majority owner, the Colombian investment group TH Soluciones Group S.A.S., which has controlled the team since October 2025. The transition is currently undergoing final legal and financial audits to ensure compliance with Spanish regulations.

The deal is not yet finalized as it requires official approval from the Spanish High Council for Sports (CSD). An official announcement regarding the change in ownership is expected to be released by the parties in the coming days.
