AEL Limassol nears signing of Nigerian striker Chinedu Geoffrey
AEL Limassol is close to finalizing a deal for 28-year-old Nigerian striker Chinedu Geoffrey to strengthen their attacking line. The club turned to Geoffrey after failing to secure Lorenzo Moron or Frantzdy Pierrot due to high financial demands. The team required reinforcements following injuries to key players Gomis and Chatakovic.
Geoffrey, who stands 1.92 meters tall, is currently under contract with the Russian club Krylia Sovetov. His professional background includes stints at Besa Kavaje, Rabotnicki, Olimpik Donetsk, Narva Trans, Lahti, Radnicki Kragujevac, and Liaoning Tieren. During the second half of 2024, he played for Astana, scoring 15 goals in 23 appearances across all competitions. Notably, he competed against APOEL at the GSP Stadium during the UEFA Conference League phase, ending in a 1-1 draw. The parties are currently finalizing the agreement to bring the player to Limassol.
