Four injured after bus collision in Thessaloniki

On Wednesday, September 9, 2026, a traffic accident involving public transport occurred in the Neapoli district of Thessaloniki. At approximately 13:00, an urban bus struck another bus from behind on Andreas Papandreou Street, causing the vehicle to veer into the 'Kan-Kan' bus stop where several people were waiting. Four women were injured as a result of the impact.

Emergency services, including the EKAB ambulance service, the fire department, and traffic police, arrived at the scene to assist the victims. All four injured women were transported to Papageorgiou Hospital. Two of the victims sustained fractures to the pelvis and lower limbs, while the others suffered lighter injuries. Among the group, a 21-year-old woman is reported to be in the most serious condition; however, she is described as hemodynamically stable and is expected to undergo surgery. Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
