International opera masterclass and competition to conclude in Lefkosia

The Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, in collaboration with the ARTE Music Academy, is hosting the International Masterclass & Competition for Opera Singers from September 20 to 25, 2026. The event serves as a platform for young opera artists to refine their craft, offering participants the chance to compete for prestigious prizes, scholarships, and potential professional collaborations with cultural organizations in Cyprus and abroad.

During the intensive masterclass, participants receive professional guidance from Myron Michailidis, the conductor and artistic director of the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, and internationally acclaimed Cypriot baritone Kyros Patsalides. Following several rigorous evaluation rounds, eight finalists will be selected to compete in the concluding concert. This culminating event will take place on September 25, 2026, at 20:30 at the Pallas Theatre in Lefkosia, featuring performances by the finalists under the musical direction of maestro Yiorgos Kountouris.
