Traffic arrangements announced for the funeral of Popi Christoforou in Limassol
The funeral of Popi Christoforou, a prominent figure known as the mother of the twin soldiers Miltos and Christos Christoforou who were killed in the 2011 Mari naval base explosion, will take place tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. at the Holy Trinity Church in Limassol. Due to the high number of expected attendees, local authorities, including the Police and the Limassol Municipality Traffic Department, have implemented specific traffic management measures.
Authorities strongly advise attendees to avoid using private vehicles and instead utilize nearby parking facilities, such as the multi-story municipal parking on Salaminos Street and the Epichosi parking lots. For those who must drive, police have designated Zenonos Street as the primary route, with a southward direction, as only the eastern entrance to the church will remain accessible for vehicles. Officials request that the public follow the instructions of on-duty personnel to ensure safety and prevent congestion during the service.
