Popular Greek singer Giorgos Mazonakis passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at the age of 54. The artist suffered a cardiac arrest while at a private clinic in the Kolonaki district of Athens, where he had gone for a scheduled regenerative medical procedure. Despite receiving immediate CPR from a paramedic who arrived on a motorcycle and subsequent transport to the Elpis Hospital, medical staff were unable to revive him and officially pronounced his death at 17:40.
Born in Nikaia in 1972, Mazonakis began his successful music career in 1992 and remained a prominent figure in the Greek entertainment scene for over three decades.
