Municipality of Polis Chrysochous signs road network upgrade contracts

On September 9, 2026, the Municipality of Polis Chrysochous officially signed two major construction contracts aimed at upgrading the local road network. The agreements were signed at the municipal offices by Mayor Yiotis Papachristofi and representatives from the construction firm Charalampidis S. Petros & Sons Ltd, the successful bidder for both tenders.

The first contract, identified as tender 35/2026, involves the removal of existing material, the laying of new asphalt concrete, and the application of reflective thermoplastic road markings on primary roads, valued at €579,762 plus VAT. The second contract, tender 37/2026, focuses on milling and resurfacing works across the 13 municipal districts, valued at €918,625 plus VAT. The combined total investment for these infrastructure improvements amounts to €1,498,387.

These projects represent a significant initiative by the local authority to enhance safety and infrastructure quality throughout the Municipality of Polis Chrysochous. The contracts follow a structured procurement process and are intended to address long-standing needs for road maintenance across both central and outlying municipal sectors.
