Spanish authorities are on high alert following social media calls for a mass mobilization on September 20, aimed at "reclaiming" the Spanish enclave of Ceuta, as well as Melilla and other territories. The campaign, which has been circulating in Moroccan Arabic, is being closely monitored by Spanish security services to determine whether it represents a genuine attempt at an organized border breach or merely an online publicity campaign.

This heightened state of security follows a major migration crisis on July 30 and 31, during which approximately 70,000 migrants entered Ceuta. Recently declassified documents from the Spanish National Intelligence Center (CNI) revealed that the government had warned both Moroccan authorities and local officials about potential border incursions a day before the July crisis occurred. These documents indicated that plans for the mass breach were being coordinated through online platforms, with intelligence reports highlighting two specific groups comprising 180,000 followers. The Moroccan government has not issued a response to these reports as authorities continue to monitor the situation ahead of the upcoming date.
