Cultural events and music performances in Cyprus
A series of cultural and musical events are scheduled across Cyprus throughout September and October 2026. On September 9, jazz saxophonist and photographer Haris Ioannou presents his multimedia production, "The Two Sides of Haris Ioannou," at the Axiothea Mansion in Nicosia, while a tribute performance to lyricist Kostas Virvos, titled "T' Achnaria," takes place at the Church of Panagia Iamatiki in Lemythou.
Beginning September 10, a tribute tour dedicated to the iconic folk singer Sotiria Bellou will visit Pyrga, Palodia, and Deftera as part of the 2026 Cultural Decentralization Program. The ensemble, led by Dimitris Fanis and Freideriki Tompazou, features a variety of musicians including pianist Aristos Christodoulou and bouzouki player Giorgos Pasmas.
Additional scheduled activities include Natassa Bofiliou's "Metrima" concert at the School for the Blind Amphitheatre in Nicosia to support the organization Sophia for Children, and "Musical Journeys into the Dream" at the Saint Stylianos Church courtyard. Other regional events, such as the 20th Parabasis Lybion Theater Festival in Dali and the 19th Mediterranean Traditional Dance Festival in Episkopeio, are also underway, alongside ongoing film retrospectives.
