Apple unveils the iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 series

Apple introduced its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, during the company's annual event in Cupertino. This marked the first major presentation under new CEO John Ternus, following Tim Cook's transition to Chairman of the Board. The iPhone Duo features an inner display designed to combine iPad-like functionality with phone portability, a titanium frame, and an optimized software interface that shifts controls for easier thumb access. It will be available in configurations starting at 256 GB up to 2 TB, with prices beginning at $1,999.

Pre-orders for the device open on October 16, with a market launch scheduled for October 23. Alongside the foldable model, Apple unveiled the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, which are powered by the A20 Pro chip and feature enhanced on-device AI. These standard models start at $1,199 and $1,299 respectively. Pre-orders for the iPhone 18 series begin on September 13, with retail availability starting September 18, offering colors including black, silver, blue, and burgundy.
