Nicosia Municipality announces 2026 waste collection fee deadlines and digital transition

The Nicosia Municipality has set September 30, 2026, as the final deadline for the payment of the 2026 waste collection fee. Failure to settle the payment by this date will trigger an automatic 10% surcharge on the outstanding amount in accordance with current legislation. Citizens may process payments via the municipal website, at the Citizens Service Offices using debit or credit cards, or at the Central Treasury using cash or cards. The offices operate daily from 08:00 to 14:30.

Objections regarding the fees must be submitted by September 14, 2026. Incomplete or late submissions will not be accepted. The Tax Office is available for consultation regarding objections from Monday to Friday, between 11:00 and 14:00. As part of a new environmental policy aimed at improving communication, the municipality announced that it will cease the distribution of printed invoices effective January 1, 2027. Moving forward, all account notices and municipal communications will be transitioned to electronic delivery. Residents are requested to register their contact details per property via the QR code printed on their current invoices to ensure uninterrupted service.
