Recent military developments in the Gaza Strip

On September 10, 2026, an Israeli airstrike on a residence in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza, resulted in the deaths of four members of the Ahmad family, including two children aged 8 and 12. Palestinian medical sources at Al-Shifa Hospital confirmed the recovery of the bodies from the rubble. The Israeli military stated it is investigating the incident. Additional reports indicate further airstrikes in the Jabalia refugee camp, targeting tents for displaced persons and ambulances.

Separately, on September 11, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the killing of Hamas commander Mohammed Yazouri and company commander Hudayfa Muammar in a strike on a vehicle in the Hamad district, near Khan Yunis. Another Hamas operative, Mohammed Bahjat Rasi, was also reported killed. Earlier, on Wednesday, Israeli security forces reported the death of Farah Hamed, an official accused of orchestrating attacks against Israeli citizens, following a joint operation in central Gaza.
