Three Cypriot children win global Toyota art contest
Three children from Cyprus, Georgia Evdokia Michael, Maria Petousi, and Savvas Sophocleous, have secured top international honors at the 19th Toyota Dream Car Art Contest. The trio emerged as part of the 21 global 'Best Finalists,' having been selected from a pool of approximately 260,000 entries submitted by participants from 87 countries and regions.
To commemorate this success, Toyota Cyprus hosted an official ceremony on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at their showroom in Nicosia. The winners were presented with handcrafted award certificate shields produced by Toyota’s Production Engineering Development Centre in Japan. Additionally, each student was awarded a $3,000 cash prize intended for educational use. This achievement is highlighted as a significant milestone for Cyprus, given that three out of the 21 global finalist positions were earned by representatives from the country.
The Toyota Dream Car Art Contest serves as a global initiative aimed at encouraging children to illustrate their visions for the future through artwork. The competition invites young participants to express their creativity on a global stage, with this year's result marking an exceptional performance for the Cypriot delegation.
