CMMI MaRITeC-X project concludes in Larnaca
On Thursday, September 10, 2026, an official event was held in Larnaca to mark the conclusion of the EU-funded project CMMI MaRITeC-X. This initiative served as a significant milestone for the development and advancement of research and innovation within the maritime and shipping sectors.
Larnaca Mayor Andreas Vyras addressed the attendees, highlighting the vital role of the Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute (CMMI) for the city. He emphasized that the completion of this project is not an ending, but rather the beginning of a new chapter in the collaboration between the municipality and the Institute. The project is central to the city's broader vision of fostering a modern, sustainable, and outward-looking coastal environment where research and innovation directly benefit society.
Moving forward, the municipality and CMMI intend to continue their partnership, focusing on sustainability and the development of the Blue Economy. The initiative underscores the strategic importance of research-driven growth for the future of Larnaca.
