Dimitris Fessas appointed as Director General of the Cyprus Hydrocarbons Company
The Board of Directors of the Cyprus Hydrocarbons Company (CHC) announced on Thursday the appointment of Dimitris Fessas as the new Director General. This decision follows a formal selection process aimed at filling the leadership position, which had been vacant. Mr. Fessas is a long-standing member of the company, having joined in 2015 and served most recently as Technical Director.
With over 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, Fessas brings extensive expertise in mechanical engineering and subsea operations. He is a Chartered Engineer accredited by the UK Engineering Council and a Fellow of the Institute of Marine Engineers, Scientists and Technologists. The company’s board emphasized that his technical background and deep knowledge of the domestic and international energy sectors are expected to facilitate the implementation of CHC’s strategic goals.
The appointment is intended to strengthen CHC's role as the National Oil and Gas Company of the Republic of Cyprus. By leveraging his professional track record, the leadership expects to advance the country's energy objectives and solidify the organization's standing in managing hydrocarbon resources, though no further actions regarding immediate project launches were detailed in the announcement.
