Miltiadis Tentoglou named European Athlete of the Month for August

Greek long jumper Miltiadis Tentoglou has been voted the European Athlete of the Month for August 2026 by the European Athletics Federation. The 28-year-old athlete secured the award following a public poll among European fans, recognizing his consistent dominance in the sport.

The recognition follows Tentoglou’s victory at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham, where he recorded a jump of 8.44 meters to secure his fourth consecutive European gold medal. His streak began in Berlin 2018, followed by wins in Munich 2022 and Rome 2024. In addition to his continental success, he recently performed at the Diamond League in Zurich with a jump of 8.45 meters, which qualified him for the 2027 World Championships.

Tentoglou’s career trajectory continues at a high level. Recent reports from Budapest indicate that he is currently competing in the newly established Ultimate Championship event, marking another milestone in his professional career.
