Cyprus ranks high in agricultural production price increases in Europe

Cyprus recorded the third-highest increase in average agricultural production prices in the European Union during the second quarter of 2026, rising 3.5% compared to the same period in 2025. While EU-wide production prices fell by 5.8%, Cyprus followed only Croatia and Malta in growth. Conversely, costs for agricultural inputs such as energy and fertilizers rose by 4.7% across the bloc, with energy prices alone seeing a significant 22% increase.
