Application process for storm damage relief launched in Larnaca district
Starting September 10, 2026, authorities have opened the application process for property damage claims following tornadoes that struck the Athienou municipality and the communities of Kalo Chorio and Vavatsinia in the Larnaca district on August 16 and 29, 2026. The relief efforts cover agricultural holdings and fixed assets affected by the severe weather events.
Affected owners, tenants, or managers of agricultural facilities are required to obtain the official Damage Declaration forms from the Larnaca District Agricultural Office or the designated online portal. Completed forms, which must include detailed land plot information as reported in the 2026 hectare subsidy application and specific data on damaged crops, must be submitted to the Larnaca District Agricultural Office no later than September 24, 2026. Applicants are required to attach a copy of their 2026 subsidy application to the CAP (KOAP). Furthermore, if harvesting is planned, the authorities emphasize that representative witness samples must be left on the field for inspection purposes.
This initiative follows the assessment of damages caused by the summer tornadoes. It remains the current responsibility of the claimants to meet the stated deadline to ensure their eligibility for state support under the Revised National Framework.
