Cyprus weather forecast: Seasonal low pressure brings cooling trend and isolated rain
Cyprus is currently being influenced by a seasonal low-pressure system, resulting in mostly clear skies with isolated instances of rainfall and brief thunderstorms, primarily in mountainous regions during the afternoon hours. According to the Department of Meteorology, temperatures are expected to reach highs of 38°C in inland areas and 32°C on the coast today, with winds occasionally reaching 5 Beaufort. Morning hours may see localized low cloud cover and thin fog, particularly in eastern and inland areas.
Looking ahead, meteorologists forecast a cooling trend starting from Sunday and continuing through Tuesday. Temperatures are expected to gradually decline by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius, bringing conditions closer to normal seasonal values. While settled weather will prevail throughout the island, isolated rain remains a possibility in the mountains. From Monday onwards, the presence of thin dust in the atmosphere is also possible, with clear to partly cloudy conditions expected to persist throughout the week.
