Ryanair disputes reports regarding passenger injury during July flight from Greece

In July, a serious incident occurred on a Ryanair flight traveling from Greece to Germany when an aircraft window shattered, leading to sudden cabin decompression. A 61-year-old Serbian businessman, Ljubisa Karovic, sustained significant injuries during the event. While early reports and the passenger's legal representative suggested that the force of the decompression pulled part of the passenger's body toward or through the window, the airline is now actively contesting these claims.

Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary stated that while Karovic was pulled toward the window during the decompression, he did not exit the aircraft. The airline has officially announced it will challenge any evidence suggesting that a passenger’s body partially exited the plane. The incident remains under investigation by the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) in coordination with Boeing, engine manufacturer GE, and Ryanair. Authorities are expected to review all technical and testimonial data to determine the precise sequence of events as the investigation continues.
