Kitchen fire in Oroklini leaves resident injured
A fire broke out in the kitchen of an apartment complex in Oroklini on Thursday night, September 10, 2026. The incident was reported at 22:42, prompting an immediate response from the Oroklini Fire Station, which deployed two fire engines to the scene. Police officers were also present to assist with the situation.
The fire was caused by the overheating of oil in a cooking vessel left on an active appliance. While attempting to extinguish the flames, the apartment's resident sustained burns. Although medical assistance was offered, the resident refused to be transported to a hospital for treatment. The fire caused damage to the cooking equipment and parts of the kitchen's wooden worktop, while smoke caused damage to the wall paint. Firefighters successfully extinguished the blaze and ventilated the premises, concluding the operation without further reported issues.
