Escalation of maritime and industrial attacks between Russia and Ukraine

Between September 10 and 12, 2026, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine intensified with mutual strikes on maritime, industrial, and civilian infrastructure. Russian forces targeted merchant vessels near the ports of Odesa and Chornomorsk, with Ukraine reporting that an attack on an Azerbaijani tugboat resulted in two crew members killed and two injured, while six others received medical aid. Ukraine responded by launching drone strikes against industrial facilities in the Samara region. The Kremlin has signaled it will continue to destroy vessels linked to military supply chains, rejecting any calls for a moratorium on Black Sea strikes.
