US approves potential sale of Black Hawk helicopters to Argentina
The United States Department of State announced on Thursday, September 10, 2026, the approval of a potential foreign military sale to Argentina. The deal, valued at approximately $140 million, covers four UH-60L Black Hawk military helicopters, along with related equipment and support services. The primary contractor for the sale is Sikorsky, a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin.
In addition to the aircraft, the approved package includes two spare T700-GE-701D engines, advanced navigation and communication systems, Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) equipment, and GPS technology. The agreement also encompasses maintenance support, specialized rescue and cargo lifting gear, and comprehensive training for flight crews and technical personnel. The State Department indicated that this transaction supports United States foreign policy and national security objectives by bolstering Argentina's defense capabilities.
