Security alert at Larnaca airport following bomb threat to Wizz Air flight

On Friday morning, September 11, 2026, authorities at Larnaca International Airport in Cyprus initiated emergency security protocols following a bomb threat targeting a Wizz Air flight scheduled to depart for Rome. Approximately 190 passengers had already boarded the aircraft, which was not connected to a jet bridge, when the threat was received.
