Israel appoints new interim charge d'affaires to Turkey

The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs has appointed Joel Lion as the new interim charge d'affaires to the Israeli embassy in Ankara. Although the embassy remains officially closed, Lion visited the Turkish Foreign Ministry on Wednesday to finalize his accreditation process and assume his new responsibilities immediately. Lion brings prior diplomatic experience to the role, having previously served as Israel's ambassador to Armenia and Moldova.
