Maria Georgiou appointed as advisor to the Minister of Finance

Maria Georgiou has been appointed as a new advisor to the Cypriot Minister of Finance, Makis Keravnos. Her duties, which include providing communication support to the minister, officially commenced on September 1, 2026. This appointment is part of a broader effort to strengthen the administrative staff within the Ministry of Finance.

Georgiou brings over twenty years of professional experience in communications, public relations, marketing, and business development. She holds a degree in Business Administration and Public Administration from the University of Cyprus and an MBA from CIIM. Her appointment follows the recent addition of Kyriakos Kakouris, a former high-ranking official at both the Ministry of Finance and the European Investment Bank, to the ministerial advisory team.
